HISTORICAL FUND PERFORMANCE The change in the value of the investment option over pre-determined time periods net of potential investment related expenses; expressed in a percentage of share/unit value. For example, if the value of an individual unit/share increased from $10 to $12 within the year the performance would be reflected as 20%. This would be the investment's rate of return and assumes all dividends and capital gains are reinvested.
For those investment options that are not part of an annuity contract, the 10 yr/incep column represents the return of the investment option for the period that is the lesser of the inception of the investment option or the prior ten years. If your investment is part of an annuity contract, the 10 yr/incep column represents the return of the fund for the period that is the lesser of the separate account's inception date or the prior ten years. For details about the investment's inception, click (tap) on the fund name and review the information in the Investment Overview document.

The overall Morningstar Rating™ for a fund is derived
from a weighted average of the performance figures associated
with its three-, five-, and ten-year (if applicable)
Morningstar Rating metrics.
For each mutual fund with at least a three-year history,
Morningstar calculates a Morningstar Rating based on a
Morningstar Risk-Adjusted Return measure that accounts for
variation in a funds monthly performance (including the effects
of sales charges, loads and redemption fees), placing more
emphasis on downward variations and rewarding consistent
performance. The top 10% of funds in each category receive 5
stars, the next 22.5% receive 4 stars, the next 35% receive 3
stars, the next 22.5% receive 2 stars and the bottom 10%
receive 1 star. (Each share class is counted as a fraction of
one fund within this scale and rated separately, which may
cause slight variations in the distribution percentages.)
